বিএনপিসহ বিরোধীদের ৪৮ ঘণ্টার হরতাল চলছে

 পাঁচ দফা অবরোধের পর জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের 'একতরফা' তফসিল ঘোষণার প্রতিবাদে আজ রোববার সারাদেশে বিএনপির ৪৮ ঘণ্টার হরতাল শুরু হচ্ছে। আজ সকাল ৬টা থেকে মঙ্গলবার সকাল ৬টা পর্যন্ত হরতাল চলবে।

২৮ অক্টোবরের পর বিএনপিসহ বিরোধী দলগুলোর দ্বিতীয় দফা হরতাল। গত ২৮ অক্টোবর নয়াপল্টনে বিএনপির গণসমাবেশে পুলিশি হামলার প্রতিবাদে ২৯ অক্টোবর সারাদেশে সকাল-সন্ধ্যা হরতাল ডাকা হয়। এরপর সারাদেশে সড়ক, রেল ও নৌপথ অবরোধ কর্মসূচি পালন করে বিএনপিসহ বিরোধী দলগুলো।

 

বিরোধী দলগুলোর অবরোধ কর্মসূচির মধ্যে গত ৭ জানুয়ারি দ্বাদশ জাতীয় নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করে নির্বাচন কমিশন। এর প্রতিবাদে বিএনপির সিনিয়র যুগ্ম মহাসচিব রুহুল কবির রিজভী ভার্চুয়াল সংবাদ সম্মেলনে দুই দিনের হরতাল কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করেন। অন্যান্য দল ও জোটও একই দিনে পৃথকভাবে হরতাল ডেকেছে।

 

হরতাল সফল করার আহ্বান জানিয়ে শনিবার ভার্চুয়াল নিউজ ব্রিফিংয়ে রুহুল কবির রিজভী বলেন, ৪৮ ঘণ্টার এই হরতাল অধিকার আদায়ের ধর্মঘট। তিনি সরকার ও নির্বাচন কমিশনের উদ্দেশে বলেন, আপনারা যে তফসিল ঘোষণা করেছেন অবিলম্বে তা প্রত্যাহার করুন, নির্বাচন স্থগিত করুন এবং আগে পদত্যাগ করুন। অন্যথায় জনগণ সর্বশক্তি দিয়ে এই আনুষ্ঠানিক একতরফা নির্বাচন প্রতিহত করবে।

 

সরকার এবারের নির্বাচনেও ভোট ডাকাতির মহোৎসব করতে চায় অভিযোগ করেন রিজভী।

A 48-hour hartal of BNP is starting today Sunday across the country in protest against the announcement of 'one-sided' schedule of the National Assembly elections after a five-point blockade. The strike will continue from 6 am today to 6 am on Tuesday.

After October 28, the second round of strike by opposition parties including BNP. A morning-evening strike was called across the country on October 29 in protest against the police attack on the BNP's mass gathering in Nayapaltan on October 28. After that, the opposition parties including BNP held road, rail and waterway blockade programs across the country.

 

The election commission announced the schedule of the twelfth national election on January 7 amid the blockade program of the opposition parties. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced a two-day strike program in a virtual press conference in protest. Other parties and alliances also called hartals separately on the same day.

 

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a virtual news briefing on Saturday calling for the strike to be successful, this 48-hour strike is a strike for rights. He told the government and the Election Commission to immediately withdraw the schedule announced by you, postpone the election and resign early. Otherwise the people will resist this formal one-sided election with all their might.

 

Rizvi complained that the government wants to celebrate the vote robbery in this election as well.

 নির্বাচন প্রশ্নে দলীয় অবস্থান এখনো স্পষ্ট নয়। তবে দলটির নীতিনির্ধারণী সূত্র জানায়, জনমতের বিরুদ্ধে গিয়ে ক্ষমতাসীন আওয়ামী লীগের সঙ্গে কোনো ধরনের 'সমঝোতায়' নির্বাচনে যেতে রাজি নন জাপার শীর্ষ নেতৃত্ব। 

 এমন পরিস্থিতিতে জাপা নির্বাচনের প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে। তারই অংশ হিসেবে আগামী জাতীয় নির্বাচনে অংশ নিতে চাইলে মনোনয়ন ফরম প্রস্তুত, নির্বাচনী এলাকার তালিকা প্রভৃতি সংক্রান্ত যাবতীয় দাপ্তরিক কার্যক্রম সম্পন্ন করা হয়েছে। 

এখন পর্যন্ত নির্বাচন কমিশন ঘোষিত তফসিলকে স্বাগত জানায়নি জাতীয় পার্টি। আবার দল থেকে তা প্রত্যাখ্যান করা হয়নি। 

 জাপার দায়িত্বে থাকা একটি সূত্র জানায়, নির্বাচনে অংশ নেবেন কি না এ বিষয়ে দলের শীর্ষ নেতৃত্বের সিদ্ধান্ত জানাতে আরও কয়েকদিন সময় লাগতে পারে। 

 তবে জাপার প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষক ও সংসদে বিরোধীদলীয় নেতা রওশন এরশাদ তফসিলকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে বিবৃতি দিয়েছেন। তার অনুসারীদের কয়েকজন নেতাও নির্বাচনে যাওয়ার কথা বলেছেন।

  The party's position on the election question is not yet clear. However, the policy-making sources of the party said that the top leadership of Japa is not willing to go to the elections in any kind of 'compromise' with the ruling Awami League, going against public opinion.

  According to the related sources, JAPA is preparing for the election in such a situation. As a part of that, if you want to participate in the next national elections, the nomination form has been prepared, all the official activities related to the list of constituencies etc. have been completed.

So far, the National Party has not welcomed the schedule announced by the Election Commission. Again it was not rejected by the party.

  A source close to Jappa said it may take a few more days for the party's top leadership to decide whether to contest the polls.

  However, Zapa's main patron and Leader of Opposition in Parliament Roshan Ershad issued a statement welcoming the schedule. A few leaders of his followers have also spoken of going to the polls.
